This café is not just a stop for your daily caffeine fix; it's a community hub where coffee lovers gather to savor expertly crafted brews in a welcoming atmosphere.

Led by the passionate and talented barista Ray, COFFEE HQ takes pride in every cup. The reviews say it all: customers are continually awestruck by the quality and care that goes into each coffee. Karen, a regular, raves about the amazing coffee, insisting it’s a must-visit for anyone who values their brew. The rich, smooth flavor profiles and the emphasis on quality truly make every sip an experience to savor.

The ambiance is equally appealing, as Jialu Gu noted, with a laid-back vibe that’s perfect for both studying and unwinding. On a beautiful afternoon, you can find students and locals alike enjoying their time, making COFFEE HQ an ideal spot for catching up on paperwork or relaxing with friends over a delicious hot drink.

Ray's passion for coffee shines through not just in the exceptional products but also in his friendliness and eagerness to share his knowledge. For a truly unforgettable experience, as Samantha Thomson shared, visitors often leave feeling delighted and eager for a return visit. With each cup, Ray elevates coffee drinking into an art form, making you feel like you’ve landed in a sanctuary for coffee aficionados.

To sum it up, COFFEE HQ isn’t just a café; it’s a cherished escape, perfect for anyone serious about coffee and those simply looking for a great place to relax. Stop by and see for yourself why so many have found their new favorite spot to indulge in coffee culture at its finest.

Simply brilliant. Have been here a couple times already and each time I am amazed by how good the coffee is. Ray is a talented barista and coffee enthusiast, you can definitely trust him for your daily caffeine fix. Location is close to Massey and easy walk to get to/from for students. So glad I stumbled across this café, it's hard not to gatekeep this one.

A gem for anyone serious about their coffee. The coffee was absolutely delicious. It was rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. Ray, the barista and owner, is incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He took the time to chat with us about coffee roasting, the beans he uses, and even tailored the coffee to our individual tastes. He talks you through his roasting choices, the origin of the beans, and even adjusts the espresso profile to suit your palate, whether you lean towards sweetness or a bold, bitter edge. I think I even spotted a bottomless portafilter in action. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does, and it really shows in each sip. Highly recommend stopping by if you love great coffee and genuine hospitality! I’d also recommend trying the matcha latte. Too often, cafés serve matcha that’s clumpy, too bitter, or drowned in milk and sugar syrup. Ray gets it smooth, vibrant, and balanced.

Been on my to do list for a little while. My visit today went above and beyond all expectations - hospitality at it's most sincere and warm. Ray, I think today I had the best coffee I have ever had from you. I knew you were good, but wow, your preparations were something else... I'm so excited to return very soon. Thank you Ray Credit to Eve for the beautiful images

Absolutely lovely cafe! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish which makes it the perfect spot to relax or get some work done. The vibes are always so welcoming, and it feels like a little hidden gem. I had the matcha latte, and it was rich and smooth - simply the best I've had in Palmy. What really sets this place apart is the staff. The barista/ boss is incredibly friendly, always greeting you with a smile and making sure you feel right at home. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great coffee and an even better experience!

A place where coffee meets people—or is it the other way around? Situated just a stone’s throw from Massey University, this humble and industrial coffee bar tucked within the AgResearch compound serves not only quality coffee but also memorable conversations. What was originally meant to be a quick try-out of a local coffee spot ended up becoming a lovely little coffee tasting session with Ray Sun and another lovely guest. Be it first time customers like us or regular patrons, everyone was treated like family when they walk through the doors. This wonderful atmosphere can only be attributed to Ray Sun, the owner cum barista. He was incredibly welcoming and friendly, naturally sparking conversations while sharing his passion for coffee earnestly. We initially got a large latte and mocha together with a ham and cheese scroll, which were all delightful. His latte art is stunning, with more amazing ones on his Instagram page. After chatting a while more, we took up his offer to indulge in his range of pour over coffees, all of which were unique with various interesting characters and tasting notes. Some notable ones were those of black forest, wine and even Moutai! The genuine enthusiasm and passion he has for his craft really shines through. This experience felt like a homely fireside gathering where we quickly turned from customers into like-minded enthusiasts delving into the wonders of coffee within a short time span. In my opinion, we need more places like this in the world—where quality, stories, and warmth are shared, breaking down barriers through natural hospitality instead of purely transactional business. Came here for the coffee, stayed for the conversation and the people.
